Alexis Franklin

Research Technician

Alexis joined the Hofer lab in September 2020. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science with a Specialization in Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego. During her undergraduate career, she researched the driving and modulatory effect of cortical projections to various thalamic nuclei by using optogenetic techniques. At the Hofer lab, she is continuing her research of the thalamus by determining how both the activity of specific thalamic nuclei and local inhibitory circuits influence cortical prediction error.
