Borgel Greenaway

Research Technician (Histology)

Borgel joined the O’Keefe group as a Technician, where he provides research support on an exciting project developing and characterising models of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). Whilst neuro-inflammation, protein aggregates and memory loss are typical hallmarks of AD, a lack of a reliable model of AD has left behind unanswered questions about the mechanism underlying the disease progression. Furthermore, prospects of an effective treatment lags even further behind.

To help bridge the gaps in our understanding, he is focusing on behavioural studies and histopathological analysis to better understand the early sequence of events in AD with the long term view to translate our findings into human studies and clinical trials.
