Gonçalo Ferreira

Research Assistant

Gonçalo completed his MSc in Neuroscience at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon. He conducted his thesis work in Dr Miguel Remondes’s lab, where he studied how the integration of multisensory information contributes to spatial mapping by performing extracellular recordings in freely behaving rats using tetrodes.

Gonçalo joined the Branco Lab as a Research Assistant to work on a project aimed at understanding how neurons in the mouse midbrain encode defensive behavioral choices. He will help to develop behavioral protocols in awake head-fixed mice coupled with extracellular probe recordings and whole-cell patch-clamp recordings.
