Research Fellow
Ilsong Choi is a Research Fellow in the Mrsic-Flogel lab at SWC, which he joined in 2026. He is interested in how the brain gives rise to flexible decision-making in different contexts through multi-regional interactions. To address this, he combines large-scale recordings of neural activity with circuit-specific manipulations in mice performing sensory-guided decision tasks.
Before moving to London, Ilsong completed his PhD in the lab of Seung-Hee Lee at KAIST/IBS (Daejeon, South Korea), where he studied audiovisual multisensory integration. In particular, he investigated how the brain resolves audiovisual conflict, and how audiovisual integration is modulated by behavioural state, such as locomotion, and by learned contingencies.
