Georgia Ppasia
Senior Research Technician
Georgia graduated with an MSci in Neuroscience from University College London and is now a research assistant in the O'Keefe lab. Her research investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s disease, with a focus on how tau expression influences amyloid-beta pathology and neuroinflammatory responses in Alzheimer's mouse models. She uses a combination of advanced microscopy, immunohistochemistry, and machine learning–based image analysis to study how tau pathology shapes plaque development and microglial activation. Her work aims to deepen our understanding of tau’s role in the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.
