Svenja Nierwetberg

PhD Student

After completing both her Bachelor degree in Biophysics at Humboldt University Berlin and an eight months exchange to the Applied Biotechnology Program of UQAM (Montreal), Svenja went on to pursue a Masters degree in Molecular Medicine at Charité Berlin. During her Masters, she joined Matthew Larkum’s lab to perform her thesis work. There, she investigated the effect of low doses of Ketamine on perceptual behavior as well as on dendritic activity of L5 pyramidal neurons in awake mice.
Svenja joined the SWC PhD cohort in 2018 and will be completing rotations in different SWC labs before choosing her project in Fall 2019.
